Thyme is a herb from the mint family. It is used in many different types of cuisines from around the world including French, Italian and Mediterranean cooking. It is also known to help ease a sore throat or cough when consumed as a hot tea using a tea strainer as it is high in antibacterial properties. Thyme is known to aid in lowering blood pressure and contains high levels of iron, copper, fibre and vitamin C. Add dry thyme to mushroom risotto or vegetable soup. Store in an airtight container in a cool and dry place.
